The goal of the University is to provide interdisciplinary programs that emphasize sports, wellness, research and education for health professionals. 

The exterior of the building is designed to connect major campus pedestrian avenues, and both terminates the campus spine and makes a connection to campus housing. Curved walls to the east and west recall the waves of the ocean setting and diminish ocean wind.
